Description | |
Our thatched
farmhouse is older than Shakespeare! Sampsons farm provides
the perfect retreat in which to relax and unwind. The house
features medieval oak beams and screens (which originally
separated the areas for family and cattle), inglenook fireplaces
with log fires in the winter, and even a priests hideaway
hole. Set in its own grounds in a sleepy village, Sampsons
Farm has been owned and run by the Bell family for two generations.
We are well practised in creating the perfect conditions for
a restful holiday or business trip. A range of pretty en-suite
rooms is available in our purpose designed barn conversions
around the farm courtyard. All rooms have central heating,
television, hot drinks facility and country views. For a special
treat we have a luxurious suite with balconies and sun deck.
A new ground floor, en-suite is available for disabled guests.
Our ground floor apartment is perfect for families, groups
and guests with dogs, whilst cosy rooms under the thatch in
the farmhouse are also offered, and a four poster bed is available.
After a good nights sleep, breakfast is taken in the farmhouse
dining room. Our happy hens provide eggs. Cereals, fresh fruit
salad, full English cooked breakfast, toast and home made
jam should send you off ready for anything, whether business
or pleasure. For those guests wishing for a constitutional,
the River Teign, meandering through the meadows, makes a beautiful
setting for walks, just down the lane. Sampsons Farm Restaurant,
also situated in the Farmhouse, is renowned locally for its
delicious menus, using the best ingredients from Devon. Fresh
from the boats at Brixham, fish and seafood dishes are our
speciality. ’Beef Sampson’, Devonshire Duckling
and local game all feature regularly, whilst Mediterranean-inspired
dished delight our vegetarian diners. What better way to end
the day than to return to the farm, dine on delicious food
and savour coffee and cognac by the fire, knowing that your
warm comfortable rooms is just steps away. No drinking and
driving headaches here. |
