Directions |
If you are coming by train:
- it's a five minute taxi ride from the station;
- or a 12-15 minute walk. The most straightforward route is to head south out of the station towards the sea. When you reach the seafront, turn right until you get to the rusting remains of the old West Pier, and the first open square on your right. We are at the top right hand corner of the square;
- or you can hop on a number 6 bus outside the station. You want the the stop opposite Primark in Western Road. When you get off, keep going the way the bus is headed and after 100m turn left into Preston Street. Take the third left into Regency Square. We're about 70m along, at the north-eastern corner of the square.
If you are driving simply keep heading south until you get to the seafront. There's a one-way system to negotiate - just follow the signs to the town centre/seafront. This should bring you to a roundabout at the main pier. Turn right at the roundabout. After you pass the Metropole Hotel on your right and the old West Pier on your left, turn right at the next traffic lights (China Garden restaurant is on the corner). Then take the first right and you are in Regency Square. We are at the north-east corner of the square. There is an underground public car park in the square directly opposite the guesthouse. (These directions assume you'll be coming down the A23 - please let me know if this is not the case.)
If you are arriving by coach at Pool Valley (the final stop), find the sea-front road – pretty obvious - and turn right so that you have the sea on your left. Keep going until you reach the rusting old West Pier - we are in the square opposite, in the north-east corner (top right as you stand with your back to the sea).
