The village of Wollaston is just a short distance from the historic shopping town of Stourbridge, which is famous for its crystal glass industry which is celebrated by a glass festival every two years. It is also known for the Stourbridge Lion locomotive, the first to run commercially in the USA in 1829. We are situated just a short walk from all of the local amenities, namely pubs, restaurants, post office, dentists, doctors, shops including newsagents, butchers, bakers, chemist, dry cleaners, hairdressers etc. We are on the edge of the Black Country and ideally situated for easy access to both countryside and other towns and cities. We are a short drive from both the M5 and M6 motorways. We are close to the large Merry Hill indoor shopping centre and Birmingham International Airport, National Exhibition Centre and LG Arena are less than an hours drive away. We have the Stourbridge Canal just up the road for cruising, walking and fishing, together with many ponds and rivers. We are ideally situated for keen fishermen, Tom being one of them who can advise and help with this aspect! We are only about 10 minutes away from Enville Golf Club which is very popular. Other places of interest include the Black Country Living Museum, Dudley Zoo and Castle, Glass Museums, Kinver Edge, Clent Hills, Himlely Hall and grounds, the historic market town of Bridgnorth with the Severn Valley Railway and many other scenic villages and towns within easy reach. There are lots of places to visit! |
